## AML Tranche 2 Overview

AML Tranche 2 extends AUSTRAC obligations to designated non-financial businesses and professions (DNFBPs):
- Real estate agents and buyer's agents
- Property developers
- Conveyancers
- Accountants
- Lawyers

### Key Requirements
- Register with AUSTRAC (opens March 2026)
- Develop an AML/CTF program
- Appoint a compliance officer
- Conduct customer due diligence (KYC)
- Screen against sanctions and PEP lists
- Report suspicious matters and threshold transactions
- Keep records for 7 years
- Conduct independent audits every 3 years

### Penalties
- Up to $6.6 million for individuals
- Up to $33 million for companies
- Criminal prosecution for serious breaches
